Jude & The Strangers
WE don't Want Any trouble, we just wanna dance
Jude & The Strangers is a pop-rock-funk band led by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Aidan Jude. With a sound that blends Beatles-inspired melodies, Springsteen grit, and funk-driven grooves, the group delivers high-energy shows and deeply crafted songs that are as fun as they are timeless.
Jude & The Strangers began as the basement project of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Aidan Jude. In 2019, Aidan stumbled across an interview with Paul McCartney, who described recording his first solo album by playing every instrument himself. The idea struck a chord. Rather than wait for the “right moment” or the “perfect band,” Aidan decided to just start. Armed with inherited gear from a family of musicians — and a stubborn drive not to let anything slow him down — he wrote, played, and recorded his debut album One Way entirely on his own. Released in June 2019, the record became the foundation of a much larger musical journey.
In March 2021, Aidan released the EP From What I’ve Heard…, marking a turning point in his songwriting. Around this time, his listening broadened: alongside lifelong Beatles and Springsteen influences, he began diving into the groove-heavy worlds of Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and modern funk bands like Vulfpeck. This new palette led to Beggar’s Tavern, released in May 2023 — a sci-fi-inspired concept album exploring party culture and overindulgence through a kaleidoscope of pop, Latin, funk, and dance grooves.
After Beggar’s Tavern, Jude & The Strangers spent two years relatively quiet in the studio but busy on the road, touring with a rotating lineup. Each variation of the band taught new lessons and pushed their sound forward, laying the groundwork for the next chapter.
In February 2025, Aidan emerged with Action Too, an acoustic folk record unlike anything he had done before. Raw and cryptic, the album was a liberation moment — with no band to hide behind, no heavy production to lean on, the songs had to stand on their own. What resulted was a deeply personal and unfiltered body of work that revealed both fragility and strength in equal measure. Lauded for its maturity, Action Too showed that the kid who had once started this journey in a basement had now grown into a fully realized, elite-level songwriter.
Later that year, on August 1st, 2025, the band released Perfect Shade — their first single and the first song with a full-band arrangement since Beggar’s Tavern. It marked both a return to their groove-driven sound and the beginning of a new release strategy.
Now, Jude & The Strangers are entering a fresh era: after years of crafting full-length albums, they’re committed to releasing singles consistently, one by one, to reach new listeners and experiment without limits. With a sound that blends pop hooks, rock grit, and funk-driven grooves — and a live show that bursts with energy and charisma — Jude & The Strangers are building momentum once again, ready to bring their evolving story to every stage and every playlist.
